Response #1 Vegetarian is Easier Than Hybrid

It has become a trend to attempt to be some-what green and environmentally friendly. Wether a person is trying to be green to help save the planet or save a few dollars, individuals are going about it in many different ways. In the article, Vegetarian is the New Prius, Kathy Freston looks into at eating habits and how they effect the environment compared to how buy a Toyota Prius helps the environment.

Through the article it is clear that it is more cost effective for the individual and more beneficial to the environment to eat less meat than to buy a Prius. Freston lists how farmed food for feed and farmed animals for meat and dairy products is inefficient and destructive to the environment.

Although Americans enjoy eating meat and ever growing in their taste for meat, there are non-meat options available. Avoiding meat can be easier on the wallet and the planet. Stores and restaurants are now providing vegetarian burgers and soy milk for those who want to make a difference by changing their own eating habits. Freston states that eating more of a vegetarian diet will do better things for the environment then buying a Prius.
