Hi everyone. I am looking for some clarification on the research project we are to do. I am confused about what the syllabus says about a research proposal. Does our major research paper include a proposal, or is the whole thing a research proposal? Or is it just supposed to be 2000-2500 word research paper? Any help you guys can give me is greatly appreciated!

Hey, I am having a hard time with the research project also. I can’t think of a topic at all. Anyway, the project proposal on the syllabus you read, I think that it is meant to be like a submitted project topic that Maureen approves, because if you continue reading it lists the different stages of the project to be turned in. Hope you find this helpful.
Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it.
Oops, forgot to add, it is just supposed to be a research paper within the class topic, social and natural sciences, like all the wildlife and environment stuff we have been reading about.
Hi there, you can look at last semesters postings to get an idea of what is expected. I’m having lots of trouble myself. Cheers.
Thank you. I will take a look.
As far as of my understanding we need to create a solid research paper. I do not believe that it needs to be a proposal. I decided to write a argumentative essay instead. The proposal was supposed to help since we already have the fundamentals done due to our short essay proposal assignment, so it would have given us an idea in regards to thet topic. I personally have the hardest time trying to find a proposal essay that affects our local community and that can be changed easily.
Hi Simone, You need to write a short proposal for your research topic so that I can get an idea of what you want to write about. So I’m not looking for a proposal argument, though you certainly can do that, too.
All research essays must be argumentative, but you can choose what style of argument you write (proposal argument, cause/effect, evaluation, definition, etc).
In this instance, I’m using the term “proposal” differently. You propose to me the topic you want to write (a few paragraphs), and I’ll say yay or nay.
Thanks! I’m sure others had the same question.
